There was a discussion on Facebook this morning when Katherine R Wilson asked about alternate terms was brick walls in genealogy?

I really liked the term Roadblock proposed by my genimate Peggy Clemens Lauritzen.

Peggy said I have never liked the term “brick wall”. It makes me feel like I can’t go through it or around it. I used “roadblock“. When I come to a roadblock here in Ohio, it I can see over it and around it, and if I’m persistent it enough, I’ll get through it.”

In Peggy’s words: Roadblock:  It’s usually just a temporary stoppage until I get going again.
