Let’s start at the very beginning….

….with an A word.

Anecdultery The role of embellishment in retelling stories.

Australian author Hazel Edwards used this word in a workshop she gave at the 13th NSW and ACT Genealogy Conference in Canberra last year when she was talking about Writing a Non-Boring Family History.

Hazel’s talk on 20/9/2013

Hazel had previously used the word on the ABC Life Matters program in 2008 and has probably used it many times since.

  1. Hi Jill!
Found your site from the FamilyTreeFrog Pimp your site blog. And immediately got sidetracked by your clever stories.
It is a brilliant idea to create a a geneadictionary – something we can all use. I will follow and will be checking out your other sites as well.
I like the clean look of your site. I think it’s the same WP theme as mine (EdesOrban.com) Great minds you know . . .
    Keep up the good work!
